Hudson Eli Miley is Home!

Hudson Eli Miley was born on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 12:28pm. He weighed 8lb 14oz and was 22in long. Big boy!! He is healthy and Hannah is recovering well! Raegan has accepted her little brother and really seems to like him. She even wants to help do things like get his socks.

He is really cute and really good. He only cries when he's hungry or if he has a dirty diaper. I hope he keeps that cool disposition! He seems content to just sit or lay there and look around. Hannah and I are really having to adjust to changing a little boy diaper verses a little girl diaper. Right now our assessment is that girl diapers are much easier to change!

Here is a slideshow of our time at the hospital. Here you'll see us with the mid-wife who delivered Hudson. She also delivered Raegan. Hannah's Mom & I helped with the delivery as much as we could. You'll see some of our nurses, friends and family who came to see us... and Raegan's first meeting with Hudson.

While we were at the hospital, Nana & Papa kept Raegan at our house. I don't think Raegan even missed us. Here is a slideshow of some of what was going on while we were away.

Finally, once we got home, Nana & Papa stayed a little longer and then it was just us. It wasn't as scary as I once would have thought. The next day, Mimi & Granddad came over for a while and played with Raegan & Hudson. Also, Carrie brought Raegan a nice purse & a "Big Sis" shirt. And Brian, Karen & Drew came over and met Hudson. They brought Raegan some Moon Sand which is really cool! The picture of them holding Hudson shows them laughing. It's actually the hysteria they felt knowing in just a couple of weeks they'll be holding their own new addition!

I'll post more pictures once we get ourselves gathered and I can take more pictures!! Thanks to you all for your love and support!

Hudson Eve

Hi all... it's Hudson Eve. Actually, we're at the hospital now just waiting on contractions to get strong enough for the epidural. We were dialated 3cm and 50% effaced on Tuesday so they scheduled us to induce this morning if not already in labor. So we're waiting. In the meantime, I thought I would share the following:

This is Hannah in front of the bed where Hudson will enter this world!

This is a slideshow of us spending some time with our neighbors and Raegan yesterday. It seemed like the calm before the storm. The other 2 girls in the picture are Danielle and Karen. Danielle is inducing on Monday and Karen is due in a about 3 weeks.

This is a St. Patrick's Day parade Raegan was in with her day care. It was cute and before she knew I was there, she was waving & dancing. She loved it.

One more big news... Raegan has "Pee-Pee in the Potty" a few times now! On Sunday night as we were getting her out of her bath, she said "Pee-Pee Potty". We sat her on the potty and she peed. And now she's done it a few times since then. She still has wet accidents in her diaper and the other kind of accident... but she's on a good start!

The next post will definitely be pictures of Hudson!!!

...Still not in Labor...

Hi everyone, We're still not in labor. Our due date is exactly 1 week from today. We were kind of hoping we would go into labor this weekend but no such luck! Hannah is still feeling good other than uncomfortable. She has a doctor appointment on Tuesday and of course they'll probably suggest inducing. We're not sure yet if we want to do that. Hannah leans toward not inducing. I can't decide what I think.

We went out Friday night with the Cohen's and ate Mexican food. The Cohen's house (Drew's house) is where Raegan will be going when we leave for the hospital if all goes as planned. Hannah had some funny feelings while at the restaurant and we were sure it meant we would be going to the hospital that night. I guess is was just the Mexican food talking.

Saturday morning we went to Kangazoom for Gianna Marie's 2 year B'day party. Kangazoom is a really neat place with a lot of inflatable play areas. Raegan mostly wanted to watch other kids play. She thought she wanted to go on a big slide with me but once we got up there, she got upset. Mostly she just wanted to walk around the place holding Hannah's hand.

Then the rest of Saturday we did more prep for Hudson's arrival. Sunday morning we went to Church. Raegan got promoted to another classroom. She seemed to really enjoy it.
Sunday afternoon we took the dogs for a walk & Raegan in the wagon around the neighborhood. We thought maybe the walking would help stimulate some kind of labor in Hannah. Still nothing. But Raegan loved the wagon ride.
Then Sunday evening, we met 3 other families from the neighborhood at Five Guys. All 4 women are pregnant and due at least by the 2nd week of April. Our due date is the closest. We each already have a 2 year old or younger. Here is a little slideshow.

Here are a couple more cute pictures from the week.
Raegan trying to wear my shoes.
Raegan trying to play "Ring-around-the-Rosie" with the dogs...
Raegan loving on Luci...
That's it for now. Hopefully the next post will have pictures of Hudson!!

Fun-filled weekend

We had an eventful weekend - I thought for sure I would go into labor by the end of it! It's Monday, and nothing is happening yet. 13 days and counting.

I took Raegan to the zoo for the first time on Friday, and we both had a great time. Our friends April, Amanda, and Amanda's two kids - Aidan and Caroline joined us. Aidan and Raegan enjoyed seeing all the animals, but Aidan was most interested in the train. Everytime we moved to a new animal, he asked about riding the train. You'll see in the slideshow where he just watched train tracks until the train came by, and then ran alongside it. Too cute. We finally rode the train at the very end, and he and Raegan really enjoyed it. We were there from 9:30 until about 2, and I was exhausted! Never realized how hilly the zoo was. There is a shot in the slideshow of Raegan laying on the ground - she was acting like the baby monkey on the other side of the glass. She said her favorite animal was the "eebra" (zebra).

On Saturday, Tony's parents came over for a visit and then we all went to Jason and Mina's house for Thomas' 4-year-old birthday party. They had bubble-makers, which was really cool since Raegan hasn't mastered the art of blowing bubbles yet. The things we learn from other parents...

On Sunday, I co-hosted a baby shower at Carrie's house for our friend Lauren, who is due in May. We really had fun preparing for and hosting the shower (there were 5 hosts). Tony took Raegan jogging on the Silver Comet trail while I was gone, and she really enjoyed going fast in the jogging stroller. He ran 3 miles pushing the stroller, and then he and Rae stretched together afterwards. Wish I could have seen that! That night, Tony and Brian played tennis while Karen, Drew, Raegan, and I watched from the playground.

There is a full moon this week, so does anybody want to bet on us having the baby early?! : )

We're full term today!

Hi all! Today we are officially full term on our pregnancy. Our due date is March 22... but today is considered full term. Hannah & Hudson are still doing well. Of course Hannah is uncomfortable but she says she feels better now that she's over the ear infection.

Hannah had a couple showers this week. We're really thankful to all of our friends who honored our new boy, Hudson with the showers. We really didn't expect anything for a 2nd baby... but the people around us are just so generous and caring!

In other news, Raegan is getting more and more comfortable with sitting on her little training potty in her bedroom. She still has not actually done anything but she'll sit on the toilet and make a cute face like she is going to. I think we may have been trying to help her do something with a grunt kind of face & noise and she turned it into something cute (but still with no results). Here are a couple pictures:

Who would have thought a poop face could be so cute?

Saturday morning was one of those showers given for us that Hannah went to. My brother and his family drove down and Mina rode with Hannah to the shower and Jason & I took all 3 kids to IKEA. Jason was returning something and my mission was to get a little table & chairs for Raegan.

The kids had a great time at IKEA. While we were waiting on Jason to do his return. Thomas, Ava & Raegan played "Ring Around the Rosie". Raegan just learned this earlier in the week with other kids. So she knew the game and really likes it. Here are a few shots of that...

Then they all checked the vending machines for change left behind...

Thomas led Raegan around the store holding her hand. She really liked it because anytime Thomas ran to look at something, Raegan would follow him and try to grab his hand again.

They all thought the round bed was cool...

Here is a slideshow of some of Hannah's friends that were at the shower on Saturday morning. Amanda took the shots and was quick to burn them to CD and give them to us that afternoon.

Then on Saturday afternoon, we went to a shower for a couple in our new small group. I took quite a few pictures but they're all kind of candid and so maybe I'll share pictures of the new small group once I take some better shots.

Raegan made some new friends at the small group. Raegan is a little slow to warm-up to people most of the time. Well... guess what broke the ice with Raegan's new friends? Ring Around the Rosie!

Not only do I have these pictures... I have a little video clip of Raegan playing Ring Around the Rosie both times on Saturday.

The other new friend Raegan made at the shower was of course a doggie. The second picture is all the kids being excited about the doggie.

After all of the activity on Saturday we were pretty beat when we got home. Raegan wanted to watch Elmo... and that was fine with us since we were tired. I sat on the couch and Hannah on the love seat. Raegan did her normal thing of playing on the floor while watching Elmo. Well... I guess I fell asleep for a minute or two. When I awoke, I looked over at the love seat and this is what I saw: (I guess we were all tired - That's Bristo & Raegan lying on Hannah)

Then today when we got out of church... it was snowing! Really hard. We got home and stepped out for a second. But we realized it was really cold and wet! Here are a couple shots:

Finally... here is a shot of the table and chairs I got at IKEA. We still need to paint it. We're thinking something like brick red would be good. In the pictures below, Raegan is hosting her new cat to a sit at the new table.

Well... that's it for now. Maybe we'll still get a couple more posts in before Hudson arrives!

Back in Town

I've been out of town for the past week - at the Annual Chick-fil-A Operator's Seminar. This is where the home office staff host all the Operators, that run the CFA restaurants, to a Convention. It's a lot of work but is a fun kind of work and is always at a cool place - this year Long Beach, CA.

Spouses are allowed to go, but this year Hannah was unable to since we only have 4 weeks left before Hudson arrives! So Hannah and Raegan stayed home and I roomed with David Laughlin.

If you saw the Valentine video that Hannah and Raegan put together in the previous post... that really got me through the distance from my girls. I watched that video a thousand times!

I didn't have my camera but below are a few shots I snagged from the web of Long Beach & the Convention Center we used and also a couple shots from my camera phone.

During the week at Seminar, I got to see/hear Dave Ramsey, Jim Collins, Kirk Cameron, Tommy Tuberville, Frank Beamer, Rick Warren, Nicole C. Mullen... to name a few. I also ran a 10K, ate at a lot of good restaurants and enjoyed time with some of my co-workers. And on my flight home, we had Hulk Hogan and Kevin Neiland on our plane!

At Seminar every year, they announce where we'll be going the next year. So for 2010... we'll be getting to stay at the brand new Gaylord National in Washington DC!

While I was at Seminar, Hannah & Raegan seemed to have a fun week. On different days, Hannah's mother or sister, Jennifer stayed at our house. Hannah took Raegan to and from daycare each day (which is usually my job). I can tell Hannah and Raegan bonded more because while Raegan was happy to see me... she really shows a strong preference for Hannah!

Hannah found out at the end of a week of balancing Raegan without my help, work & being 35 weeks pregnant, that she has an ear infection and sinus infection. So Hannah really showed how tough she can be - she didn't even know she was really sick! (she has an antibiotic now and seems to be feeling better)

On Saturday, we went to the playground for a little while. Raegan as usual didn't want to play on the playground but seemed content to watch the other kids play. And then her love for dogs came out as she made friends with one of our neighbor's dogs that was out there.

Then today after church, we went down to Hannah's parent's house. Raegan got to play with Mimi, Granddad, Uncle James, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Jacob & Uncle Aaron. Below are some pictures from my camera phone (we forgot the camera).

That's pretty-much all there is to share at the moment. We are ready for Hudson to arrive. Hannah and Hudson are still doing well... other than Hannah is uncomfortable. I finally wired the remote control and new light fixture to the ceiling fan in Hudson's room. I took out the wire shelf in the closet and this week I'll put in a new closet organizer.
This last picture is just a shot of a rainbow that was outside my hotel room in Long Beach. It doesn't seem like you often see a rainbow so clear. So I had to take a picture and post it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Tony-We made several attempts to create "valentine" for you, but you know Raegan. Hopefully you can tell from these clips that we love you and miss you! Hope you are having a great day!!

Love,

Hudson Eli Miley

We have finally nailed down a name for our boy! His name will be Hudson Eli Miley. We have only a few weeks left until we welcome him into the world! Hannah & Hudson are both still doing well! Hannah is pretty uncomfortable but health is all good!

This past week I spent most of my time preparing for the Chick-fil-A annual Seminar - this year in Long Beach, CA. The truck deadline was Thursday evening so I made the deadline and took Friday off to celebrate. I spent Friday working on 2 shelves for our boy's room.

Hannah played with Raegan all day Friday before leaving for the weekend on a girl's trip to the Lake (not our Lake). Hannah said the house they stayed in was really nice. Hannah relaxed with her old college roommates. They didn't take any pictures!

So Raegan and I had kind of a Daddy/Daughter weekend. She was so good and so much fun! Plus it was an incredible weekend that felt like Spring!

The rest of this blog post is pretty much all from my perspective because Hannah was out of town for the weekend. But I'm sure she could blog about how much fun her Lake trip was.

Saturday morning was the neighborhood playground opening party. You've seen posts where Raegan loved playing on the playground. Well lately she has just wanted to play around the playground but not get on it. She enjoyed mingling a little but mostly just staying away from the playground and playing with things like rocks.

After the playground party, Raegan and I drove to Cordele, GA to see my Grandmother (Granny), Nana & Bailey. Raegan was excited to see all 3 of them. Raegan enjoyed exploring Granny's house, eating her food and I think mostly running in her yard. Granny's yard is huge and Raegan doesn't usually just get to run wide-open like that. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed visiting with my Mom & Granny too. Below is a slideshow of some of the visit at Granny's house:

So then we drove home. Sunday morning either Raegan didn't wake up until 10am or she woke-up at her normal 7:45am and I was sleeping so hard I didn't know it... so she went back to sleep. Regardless, we missed church because we slept too long. But it was another beautiful day. So we went back down to the playground. She finally got back on it again! Maybe since we were the only ones down there. But she still wouldn't get back on the big slide. Here is a slideshow of pictures of that:

Then after playing on the playground, it occured to me that I had never taken Raegan onto the tennis courts. I need to get her used to tennis! She enjoyed playing on the courts. She has become very silly lately. And until the tennis courts, she has seemed to be scared of stickers of all things. But on the tennis court she decided to use a sticker to be silly. You'll see in the pictures (another slideshow):

Finally, I have to show you what I worked on during the weekend while Raegan was asleep. It may not look like much work but it really was! I haven't built anything since Raegan was born. So this was fun to use all my tools and some creativity again! And to do something custom for my son, Hudson!

I started with this piece of wood...

And using a Table Saw, Jig Saw, Miter Saw, Brad Nailer, Router, Paint Brush (with Stain & poly), I made this (I know I could have bought something similar for maybe cheaper and less effort):

Have a good week!
