Raegan the dancer...

This week has been active. We have done our normal stuff like tennis, small group, school, work, P90X, chores, church, etc.
Raegan is still doing pretty well with the potty training. She has made it through another week at school without wearing diapers. She has had a couple of accidents and at times says "I don't like to pee pee on the potty..." and definitely "I don't like to poo poo on the potty". So we have seen a few poo poo accidents this week and some pee pee. But over all, she's doing pretty well.

Hudson has had a good week. He got an immunization shot but seemed fine with that. He is eating baby food really well and we introduced squash to him tonight. He seemed to really like it. Today he has actually been fussy. This is really unusual for him. And I've heard him moan a few times tonight as he has been asleep. I guess he is either teething or has growing pains. He doesn't have a fever. But the rest of this past week, he has been the usual mild mannered little guy we're used to.

This week, they had an activity at school where Hudson & I got to do our prints together. See below... (crazy to think that one day his foot will likely be bigger than my hand!)

Raegan finally got to wear the raincoat that Hannah got her. She's been waiting for that day... and it finally rained!

This is a goofy shot of Raegan in her panties and pigtails. I just thought the picture was funny... but this is how she runs around the house pretty often.

You've seen video on this blog of Raegan dancing. Well it's finally gonna be official. Next week she starts dance class at school! She and Hannah bought dance clothes this week. I never had a sister or anything so I never realized what happens to girls when they get dance clothes. I think Hannah & Raegan came alive when Raegan tried on her ballet outfit and her tap dance outfit. Raegan even did the run and jump into Hannah's arms thing. I'm not sure they got the proper ballet form... but it's a start!

You may wonder what Hudson was doing while all this silly girl stuff swas going on. He was just lying on the floor being happy. I don't have the video to prove it, but he is now able to roll-over on both sides. He first went from back to belly. But now he can go from belly to back also.

That's it for this week!

Raegan milestone, Hudson 5 month & the Lake...

This past week was a milestone week. It was Raegan's first week going to school wearing panties instead of a diaper. She went the whole week with out a pee-pee accident! She had one #2 accident but I would say she has mastered #1 in the potty!

On the 19th, Hudson turned 5 months old! Time is flying! He is still an awesome kid - very healthy, very even tempered & very cute!

Also... this past week was Mimi's Birthday. Happy Birthday Mimi!

Over the weekend we went out to the Lake to see Nana & Papa & it could possibly be the last time getting to play in the water for the season. We had a lot of fun. On Saturday night we took the boat to a restaurant on the water and it was really nice - thanks Papa! The weather was perfect the whole weekend. Also, the neighbors (Glen & Mary) got a new boat. It has a wake board tower and they took me and Hannah out for a couple hours. It was really nice wake boarding behind a boat with a bigger wake and a high rope - I have boat fever now but it will pass. Plus we got to use his new wake board that was really nice too.

This is a slideshow of some of the shots from our camera from the weekend.

This is a slideshow of some pictures from Nana's camera (much better quality!):

This is a slideshow of some action shots from the wake boarding (from Mary's camera):

So that was our weekend. Tonight Hannah had tennis practice. Our interest in tennis is finally influencing Raegan. Tonight she asked if she could play tennis tomorrow night. I'm not sure why she said tomorrow instead of tonight but we love that she is asking to play tennis!

Routine week...

We don't have a whole lot to report for this past week. It was a pretty low-key week. Standard routines.

Raegan is doing pretty well at going long periods of time wearing big girl undies and going to the potty when she needs to. Not fully potty trained but we're getting there.

Hudson is still doing well. He is eating rice cereal a little and is starting to go through that phase where he gets distracted easily while drinking a bottle. This weekend he seemed a little fussy which is unusual - so we're wondering if he might be starting to teethe.

Wednesday night I got to go down to PTC and do the mock triathlon on the race course. It was fun and really made me want to do a triathlon this season. But the season is almost over and I know I'll do more next year.

Hannah is starting back ALTA (tennis) and practice starts this week.

This weekend, we went to a party at the Martin's and I went on a Sweetwater tour with some of the guys before the party.

Otherwise, that's about as much as I have to report. Below are a few pictures we took today.

JCCC, 6-Flags & Hudson's first solid food...

Earlier this week, JCCC (childcare) hosted a Family Fun Day. They had activities and a petting zoo. It was really hot that day so I told Hannah it probably wouldn't be worth driving down because I didn't figure we would be out there long. We stayed longer than I thought... but Raegan had fun... until I wouldn't let her hold a bag of Cheetos in the petting zoo. She got pretty upset about that but all-in-all, it was a fun event. Hudson stayed inside until time to go. Below is a slideshow from that event.

Another thing that happened this week was that we introduced Hudson to solid food (rice cereal). He seemed to like it OK. Raegan even helped feed him some. Below are some pics.

We have a slightly scary story to tell from Friday night. We [Hannah, Raegan, Hudson & me] went out to eat. We didn't have Raegan strapped into her highchair. We already told her to not stand-up in it. We thought she understood. I was in the process of retrieving Hudson from Hannah so Hannah could eat her food and in that split second Raegan stood-up in her highchair and fell backward onto the concrete floor. It made the worst sound. Rae of course cried. A lady at the table next to us covered her ears, began rocking back and forth chanting "they need to call 911". As Hannah was tending to Raegan, the lady with the chanting woman told me that their brother was in a coma for 7 years after a similar fall. That kind of freaked us out. We gathered our kids and started driving to urgent care - meanwhile Raegan is seeming OK. She was saying the alphabet, etc. No vomiting & eyes were focused. Hannah called the nurses line and after going through a few questions and checking what they told us, we decided Raegan was OK. We checked on her again 4hrs after she went to sleep (as instructed by the nurse) and she was fine. And she is still fine. But that was scary for a minute and we decided that we are really lucky that she is OK and that we've never really had any really scary situations with our kids before now.

On Saturday we just hung around the house. We played at the pool a little, played inside and also got some things done around the house. Below is a slideshow of some cute pictures of Raegan & Hudson.

On Sunday, my team at work celebrated the completion of a project by going to Six Flags together. It was extremely hot and tiring. But it was fun and we got to ride most everything we wanted. I can tell I'm getting old - I used to be a roller coaster junkie and now I just don't hold-up like I used to. But we were all spent earlier than I would have thought. Below are a few pictures from that outing.

That's about it for this past week. I hope this coming week is good!

Sullivan's Island Trip

Hello... it is late on Sunday night and we just got back from an extended weekend at Sullivan's Island with our small group. We get to go every year (for the past 6 years). We got there Thursday night and came home tonight. It's a long drive and Hudson wasn't really happy on the ride home. So we're pretty tired. I uploaded the slideshows while we were driving so I can make this post quickly and get on to bed!

Thanks to Todd & Ashley for always inviting us! We had a great time! Everyone took pictures but I just have pictures from our camera and Todd's. But I think you'll see that it's a good thing I don't have everyone's pictures! The people who made the trip this time were: The Smith's, The Barillas', The Koval's and us. This is the first time the McCants' couldn't make it - we missed them!

Here is a slideshow from our camera...

And here is a slideshow from Todd's camera...

Finally, below is a video of Raegan running on the beach. Notice when she waves at the strangers. I think this captures young, carefree happiness! And it makes me want to run!

Have a good week!

Various things...

This week all four of us have been kind of sick. Raegan, Hudson & I have all had runny noses & slight coughs. Hannah is starting to show signs of it too. I think we're OK though. I went to the clinic in Walgreen and they said I just have inflamed sinuses - not even an infection. So hopefully we'll be well in a day or so.

On Wednesday, I went to a ball game with the guys from work. We tailgated and had a good time.

On Friday, Hannah & the kids went to the Zoo with some of her girlfriends and their kids (no pictures). Then Hannah took Hudson to the doctor for his check-up. He is still a big boy. He is in the 95% on weight and 95% on height. He weighs almost 18lbs! He's healthy and is still a very content baby!

By-the-way, Raegan seems to be growing in intellect so fast. It's amazing how well she puts her sentences together, the songs she can sing and the things that she remembers. I may be biased... but I think my daughter may be a genius! We're still working on potty training but I have to brag that Friday morning, she woke me up to let me know she pooped in the potty. I got-up expecting a mess... but sure enough, she had done exactly what she said... without any of our help. I can't say the rest of the weekend went so smooth in that regard but we're getting there! Also, we're having to work on her not getting out of bed at night and coming into our room to get in our bed or just wondering around.

Friday night, Mimi & Grandad came for dinner. It was a good time and the kids enjoyed their grandparents.

On Saturday I finally did the yard work I've been putting off. Below is a picture that I wish I could say was a beautiful tree I had planted. But it's actually a tree sized weed that shows how long I've been putting off pulling weeds. I spent the whole morning cutting grass, trimming bushes & pulling weeds. I thought I was going to die. But the yard looks good now! I should have taken a picture of how good the yard looks but instead you can just see this picture of the monster weed that is now gone. (the rest of the day we just hung-out, ran some errands together and went out to dinner)

Hudson is 4 Months Old & More Lake Fun...

Hudson turned 4 months old yesterday! He's still a happy baby and he is a chunk. He lights up when Raegan gets near him, and Raegan really likes him and wants to help care for him.

This is a picture that Raegan asked us to take before school one morning. She is saying so much and forming her sentences really well! Plus she is a clown!

This past Thursday night, 2 of my friends [Jonathan & Todd], my brother [Jason] and I all went down to the Lake. We spent the night and got up the next day for all day water play! The weather turned out great and we had a great time. I guess I got too much water in my sinuses because I ended-up with "Sinusitis." That's just inflamed sinuses & some fluid in my ears. But that didn't really get me until the end of the day. Below is a slideshow of some pictures from my camera as well as Todd's camera.

Then the 3 guys all drove back to Atlanta on Friday night while my parents, Hannah, & her sister [Jennifer], Raegan, and Hudson all came to the Lake. Raegan was a little sick and Hannah thought she might have Pink Eye. She stopped on the way and got some medicine for that... and either the medicine cleared things up pretty good or she didn't have Pink Eye. She still has a little bit of a rough voice but she is fine.

We all had a good time over the weekend. You can see some of the shots from my camera as well as my Mom's camera in the slideshow below.

Now we're back to work and school. I've started back in a co-ed Wally Ball league at work. We lost a match today. Our record is 2-2. Also I'm on week 5 of the P90X program. I can't hardly move my arms tonight. Hannah is starting back LeagueTennis this week (w/ Carrie). I still can't beat Brian, my neighbor (at tennis).

That's about it for us right now!

Pool Parties & more transitions...

Hi all! It's been a good week. First, here are a couple cute shots of Hudson. He's growing so fast! He's still a happy, mostly content baby. He has been sleeping through the night really well. When he first started rolling over, he awoke a couple times because he was frustrated that he couldn't turn back over. But he's actually rolling over and sleeping that way a good bit too now. He seems to have good control of his head now. See the 4th picture... I can't lift my head that high!

This is a few shots of Hudson in the Bumbo. I took these with my Blackberry and didn't realize how poor the quality was until I transfered them to the PC. But I'm posting them anyway...

Another place that I took poor quality pictures with my Blackberry was at our friend Marley's 2yr B'day party. That was Tuesday and I took a few pictures. But most were blurry. Here are two shots from that party.

This is a shot of a dress that Hannah's friend at work made for her. She made it for Raegan when Raegan was first born... and now she can finally wear it! We think she looks cute in it.

Hannah has been in a productive mood this weekend. Before I got up on Saturday morning, Hannah had already fed Hudson, taken Hudson for a jog, started laundry, got Raegan up and she and Raegan were making blueberry pancakes. I felt kind of lazy once I drug myself downstairs and realized how much was already in motion!

I don't think I mentioned in our last post how at the Lake last weekend, Luci got caught under the running board of my brother's van as he was pulling out of the driveway. We knew she didn't get under the tire but she seemed traumatized. Her mouth was bleeding but it was a surface scratch. Anyway, we took her to the vet, they kept her over night and she is OK other than bruising. Hannah has been giving her medicine the vet prescribed. Anyway... all that to say that Bristo seemed pretty concerned of course. Below is a picture Bristo giving her care (and maybe acting as a heating pad for her back).

On Friday, the Stuckey's came over. Raegan and Hudson had a good time playing with Harrison and Cooper.

Our neighborhood had a pool party on Saturday. It was fun for adults & kids. They even had an ice cream truck pull-up and the ice cream was free! This slideshow has some shots from that party...

Finally the biggest milestone of the weekend... on Friday night we converted Raegan's crib into a toddler bed. Here are a couple shots of her first introduction to her new bed.

She went right to sleep. And she slept through the nite. Below is a shot of her after getting out of the bed after her first night sleeping in it.

The only issue we're having is that she wants to take her diaper off in the mornings and potty on the bed. She still doesn't understand that she can get out of the bed if we're not in there. But I'm not sure why she thinks she should remove her diaper. We told her she can get out of the bed and go to the potty. Then remove her diaper. I guess she'll learn.

This is a little video we took of her the night we first introduced the bed. In the background is a funky version of the "Monkey's jumping on the bed song...".

Have a good week!
