Miley family Christmas...

I guess our weekly blog posts are becoming longer than a week in between updates! I don't want to make a new year's resolution that we'll get back to weekly, but I'll just say we'll try!

Since the last post, we've gone down to Brewton for the Miley family Christmas. Jason's family was there too. When we got back, Hannah gave me a B'day week... which was awesome.

At school, Raegan's class sang Christmas carols to the home office (my work). Raegan had practiced and was ready but kind of freaked out just as they started singing and had to run out to me and Hannah watching in the audience. I have a little video of that but since it's sad, we won't post it. Instead, I'm posting a video of when we had Raegan sing some of the songs at home. Also, you can see some of the shots from the caroling & of the family staying for lunch.

Christmas Fun

Lots of Christmas fun this week! We went to Vinings Jubilee last Thursday with our awesome babysitter, Lesley and her boyfriend. Lesley is a very talented photographer (lesleykerrphotography.com), and she photographed us (pics to come soon). Afterwards, we went to dinner and then tried to go to the Vinings Jubilee Christmas tree lighting, but there were no parking spots within a mile of the place! On Saturday, we joined the Cohens at the Mable House Christmas Festival for some holiday acitivites. Sunday was the CFA Open House, and Tony runs the Santa pictures there every year. It's always a long day for him, but he does a great job getting pictures for all of CFA's visitors. This year, he took 299 pictures. I went to a Cookie Exchange in our neighborhood that day, and Mimi watched the kids. I came home with almost 100 cookies and we've been stuffing our faces all week! Mimi came to Raegan's school on Monday to decorate Christmas ornaments with Raegan. Christmas shopping is under way, but we've still got a lot to do. Raegan has already asked if she can open all the presents now, and Hudson enjoys pulling ornaments off the tree and busting them on the floor.

Thanksgiving & Christmas decorations

This past week, we spent most of the week and weekend in a cabin in north Georgia with Hannah's family. Everyone made it except Aunt Heather & her family. We all had fun and it was a really nice cabin. Our kids were a little unruly a few times but were mostly good I think.

We had Thanksgiving meal there, we played games, enjoyed the hot tub, played with the kids, took family photos, exercised, went to Blue Ridge for a Christmas festival, watched the Iron Bowl, and just had a good time! We don't often get to spend multiple days in a row with Hannah's family. I think everyone had a good time and I know Raegan & Hudson were sad to leave!

Yard Sale, Pirate's Cove, the Zoo & Dinosaur party...

Since our last blog post, we have had a yard sale with my brother's family. That was my first yard sale... we did pretty well! Hannah has taken the kids to Pirate's Cove indoor playground & also took them to the zoo with Mimi, Aunt Heather & Skyla. We also went to Zach Martin's 5yr B'day party. It was a fun Dinosaur themed party.

We don't have a whole lot to blog about but below is a slideshow of a few things that we have been doing lately.

Halloween and Fall activities...

We just can't seem to get back into the weekly blog update! So when we do post, there tends to be a lot to post. Hopefully it will keep your attention!

Everyone is doing well. I just finished my first ever jury duty (interesting experience). Hannah starts bootcamp (fitness) tomorrow. Raegan can spell 'aquarium'. Hudson is starting to better communicate with signs and trying to talk. He still doesn't really say anything too clearly, but he is trying! Anyway... all has been good but busy!

The slideshows will tell the story of the activities we have been doing. But to summarize... since the last post, we have helped host a shower for the Smith's (having their first baby), have helped host a going away party for the Leary's (who are moving to Virginia), have gone to our first & second Smyrna rec league T-ball game, went to another fall festival, Hannah & Rae went to the aquarium, we have hosted a UGA/FLA party at our house, and we have celebrated Halloween (mostly with our neighborhood party).



For Halloween, we went to our neighborhood party dressed as medical people & dressed our wagon as an ambulance. I'm pasting these shots outside of our slideshow because I told too many people of my ambulance plan so I have to show a couple of pictures before going into the slideshow (because I have a ton of pics in the slideshow)

Airshow & Pumpkin Patch

It's time for another post. As we got our camera to upload pictures... we noticed some pics we didn't recognize...

...then we saw the picture that told it all... we have a teenage girl in the making!

What amazed us is that Raegan found the camera and she knew how to turn it on and take pictures. She even squared-up the pictures pretty well. And when we asked her about it, she showed us and she even knows how to press the play button to show us the pictures she just took! So she definitely needs a camera of her own! Watch-out Aunt Kelly! You may have a niece following in your footsteps!

Besides that, we've been having fun. This past weekend, we hungout with my brother's family to watch an airshow and watch the Auburn game... and we went to Grandad & Mimi's house on Sunday to have lunch and go to a pumpkin patch.

Grand Canyon and Stone Mountain

Yes, we visited one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and one of the 7 natural wonders of Georgia this month, and the month is not even half over!
First, the Grand Canyon trip. It was part of a Wellness Challenge at CFA (2010 Mooooooove Challenge, to be specific). It was an amazing opportunity, subsidized by Tony's work and ridiculously well organized. We didn't have to think about a thing. From transportation to meals, it was all covered. We stayed at the Hilton Sedona Spa and Golf Resort. Sedona was so beautiful, and the resort was very nice. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad in the Grand Canyon that our hike was canceled. There was flash flooding and dangerous lightening, not to mention the constant rain. So it was disappointing to have trained for and looked forward to hiking the Grand Canyon after all this planning, and then to have it canceled the day of the hike, on the way to the GC. We were able to visit the GC anyway, and walk around the rim. The clouds opened up for a few brief minutes for a photo opp, but I feel like there was so much we didn't see. We'll just have to go back again when the kids are old enough for a hike!

The kids stayed with Mimi and Granddad and they were super-grandparents, taking them to school on Monday and then taking two days off from work to entertain our littles. I think both kids had a great time, and Raegan said she wanted to do it again soon.

Before the trip, we went to Sarah's 2-year birthday party in the neighborhood. Always a good party at Sarah's house, and this year was a tailgate theme. Go Dawgs and War Eagle!



If you're still reading, you must really like us. Last Saturday, we went to the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain. The weather was perfect and we had fun doing fall activities and riding the train.

Closing out Summer and Bringing in Fall

For those who keep up with us regularly, sorry we've missed a couple of weeks! We've been on the go a lot, and have enjoyed doing a few last summer activities and then kicking off fall with football games. Last weekend, we went to Brewton (Tony's hometown) to visit his parents. Their home flooded on Memorial Day weekend, and they've spent all summer getting things back to normal. I know they would not want to do it over again, but the end result is very nice! Lots of new updates to the house. We also went to the beach for the day (Pensacola, close to Brewton). We all had a great weekend and can't wait to go back there for Christmas. The weekend before that, Tony took the kids to a bday party for a small group friend while I helped my close friend Huong shop for wedding dresses. I wish I could reveal a picture of the beautiful dress she picked out, but that doesn't seem right!

Here are the highlights that catch us up to this weekend. There are always lots of pictures when Nana is involved (thanks Nana!) and you can tell which ones are from her camera by the quality.



Lastly, here are some pictures from our relaxing weekend around Atlanta. We went to a friend/co-worker of Tony's house for a cookout and to watch football. Lots of Auburn fans there, so I allowed Tony to put both kids in AU clothes. Maybe that's why Georgia lost that day.
