Teething & mood swings!

Raegan got a fever during the week at daycare and she pooped through her diaper - and had to go home early. So naturally she seemed to have a stomach bug. We heard of some other kids having the same issues. The fever never got over 100.9. We now think that she is just teething more. She has been slow getting her teeth but they're coming in like crazy now. She has been really moody. One minute cute & silly... and the next minute, really upset and we can't calm her down.

Raegan has started expecting a daily dose of Elmo on TV. (We Tivo Sesame Street episodes.) When I got her home, when she had to leave daycare early, she just sat on the couch and said "Emow" (Elmo). She just wanted to sit there and watch Elmo. It was kind of sweet. (but also meant she must have felt bad because she usually can't sit still for very long).

On another night this week, I think she may have done her first role-play. She pushed her shopping cart (gift from Grammy & Grandad) to the middle of the floor and then she piled some stuff in it. Then she brought over a little doll to me and started whining. I couldn't figure out what she wanted me to do with it. This made her more frustrated. Finally, she took my hand and led me over to the buggy and tapped the buggy. So I asked if she wanted the doll to sit in the buggy... and she kind of nodded. I put the doll in the buggy the same way Raegan sits in it when we go to the grocery store. Raegan was content. I think she was pretending she was one of us pushing her in the buggy. See below.

Now that it is cold outside, it's too cold to go to the park we usually visit. So I took Raegan to a Chick-fil-A and let her play on the playground. I wasn't sure she was old enough but it turns out it was perfect! She crawled through tunnels, climbed a stair type thing, played with an activity wall. It was all great until another kid kind of pushed her a little in the tunnel and she got really upset. I had to climb into the tunnel to get her out. How embarrasing!

Anyway... that was mostly the week. If Raegan can make it through this teething, I think this week will be a better for Raegan. Hannah is doing well, the dogs are well... and we're all looking forward to Thanksgiving week!
